A blog and information portal with a custom management panel for bloggers and commenters.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The task was to create a blog and information portal with the option of creating accounts for bloggers and commenters without the need to access the WordPress admin panel.
To this end, dedicated subpages for logging in, registering and recovering passwords were created for visitors as part of a dedicated theme.
Another element of the portal was the creation of subpages for logged-in users, divided into author (blogger) and commentator account types. The blogger account in the profile panel has special subpages for blogging. Blog entries can be added, edited and deleted without having to contact the WordPress admin panel.
The profile also has a form that allows you to enrich your profile with an About Me section (longer bio) and a short BIO visible under blog posts. You can also add URLs to your social media profiles, change your password, and set your own avatar.
The administrator can also create a news section. A special section in the admin panel allows you not only to create original news items, but also to add external editorials from other websites, ending with a button linking to the original article. This has also been extended to include the option of creating a database of external website logos, which appear next to the news title on the website. There is also an option to highlight entries at the top of the home page (independent of “sticky” entries).
The sections on the home page are created using widgets, where you can select the type of content to be displayed (posts or news). The portal also has widgets for displaying the most read or commented news or blog posts.
A particular advantage of the portal is the language installer. After activating the theme, a form appears for setting the language version. You can assign a unique URL name (slug) to each system subpage or choose from several language templates (Polish, English, German, French). This makes it easy to create a portal in any language with unique URLs in the selected language (important for SEO).
