PROJECT DESCRIPTION
After some minor collaboration earlier on, I was asked to build an online shop from scratch because the existing version, based on a combination of WordPress/Woocommerce, a premium theme and the Elementor builder, was performing very poorly.
The website was running too slowly, which was the result of a huge excess of resources it was using. To remedy this situation, I suggested creating a dedicated WordPress theme to ensure full control over resource optimisation, especially scripts supporting the website’s functionality.
The project uses my original JavaScript scripts that support the Shopping Cart module and dynamic loading of results in the search form. Additionally, a script was created to support the functionality of product catalogue sorting fields, along with giving them a customised appearance.
The client placed particular emphasis on preserving the premium theme design that the shop had been using before commissioning my work. I accomplished this task while coding the HTML/CSS structure of the theme.
The project includes proprietary widgets presenting products and entries from the articles section. They allow you not only to configure which elements are displayed on the product or entry card, but also to choose a visual template for the card between minimalist, highlighted and standard. The appearance of product cards placed in the content of articles, which are displayed using a custom plugin, has also been customised.
